Hi,

is there any commercial or free software for scanning faces/bodys or
objects with that line-pattern projected via a video-projector?

I have seen that solution in some shops where they sell those
3D-glasscubes with pictures in it.

From my point of view only a projector (720p should be enough?) and
a camera. I got a PAL-DVcam and a Canon EOS 350D DSLR.

Any idea with wich software I could acomplish that?

Hi Delphi,

Our FLexscan3D software does pretty much exactly what you want. You can use a machine vision cameras, Digital SLR camera, or any WDM video camera with a projector in order to create high accuracy 3D scans.

Your Canon DSLR will work although it would be slow compared to a Machine Vision camera.

You can find out more on our website.

Hope that helps.

Hello Delphi,

You can use www.david-laserscanner.com with a projector for its "Structured Light" feature. Please, check its site and its Wiki, here: http://www.david-laserscanner.com/wiki/

Best Regards,
Mattia

@3D3

Does the HDI 3D scanner comes with a turntable or how to You achieve a whole model?

How the software deals with other elements in the scanning area (floor, turntable)? Hals mentioned David sometimes leaves them in the scan and we have to clean up these things and that's precious time gone by.

The other thing is that David can't always align the separate scans and that also a waste of time. And we need a solution that can use a person who isn't a 3D artist.

The HDI 3D3 scanner does not come with a rotary table, but a seperate one is available for purchase as an accessory.

- Scan clean up and alignment can be done inside of FS3D, please see the videos here. As you know time is money for a business and the software tries to make the day to day use as efficient as possible.
