Hi!

I am searching for a 3D scanning solution that will cost under $10000.

Our needs are:
1) Textures
2) Min detail 0.5 - 1mm or better (models are only showed for client - no scientific or manufacturing purpose)
3) Object dimension: 50mm - 1m would be great.
4) Simple to use (NextEngine looks simple, haven't tried it).
5) Output - less than 1 million polygons.

Please advise me something that would suite us.

Cheers,
tfk

Hello,

I'm new here, so, hello to you and to everybody.

Have you already checked this software: www.david-laserscanner.com ?
It's cheap and give good result. The only things needed are a good camera and a good laser.

Best regards,
Mattia Mercante

Yes, we have dried it but the software is picky and the result isn't that good.

We need something that a usual person (tech savvy) can use and the end result is ready for use. David doesn't do that You have to fiddle around.

Hey TFK,

We sell the Konica-Minolta Virtuoso 3D Scanner which captures 1.3 million points per scan and each scan only takes 5 second.

It's a little more than you want to spend but a much better choice than the NextEngine (very slow to scan, hard to align data, limited object size, etc).

This is not a home built scanner like some others and includes a 1 year parts and labor warranty.

Learn more at http://www.ems-usa.com/konica-minolta_virtuoso.html There are scan sample pictures and a video demo

If you like what you see we can try and work with you on the price.

Hello TFK,

How many scanner would you need? Just one?

Will you be manually merging the data for full surround 3D or do you not need the full surround data?

Do you mind giving an example of what you are scanning, action figures, engine parts etc.?

I may be able to help you out it just depend how many you want and what you are using it for.

Thanks,

Cole

I want a similar polygon count. I am mainly interested in scanning small glass ornaments and crystals for replication purposes.
