Hello all!

We improve our software to create cross sections in colums,
to save time cleaning the 3d points clouds and more.

When we do the scanners we have to clean stairs..pipes..and all the objects we don´t want in our cross sections.

With this software we only need to give the file 3d points cloud, the alignment, (this alignment must be near the center of our colum and grow up on Z value, X and Y must be equal) and a minor radius, higher radius (example: If our colum have a radius of 3.70m I will put minor radius=3.65m and higher radius=3.75m) the sofware will catch all the 3d points between this 2 radius.
I give the distaces of the cross sections that I want, and the software create a dxf file with the all the cross Sections separed by layers (the layer name is the Z value).

Extras:

- The software give me the distace if the column is inclinated.
- Have all the extras that I mencioned on my first message.

I will improve this sotware also to do cross sections on Spheres and other objects.

Would be very good if the Leica looks for these details and applies in Cyclone in future updates...

Hello to all!

I had problems with alignment X and Y value equal, If I have a big inclination in the column, my 2 radius
will not work very well...because the surface of the column in a big Z value can be out of this 2 radius...

Now i can put the alignemet with X and Y with other values and the software will calculate and create a 3d Point on the center of each cross section.

Hello again

I Had to improve again our software!

I´m doing this work because my client want to change some dishes inside the column.
This dishes will be build in other factory, the problem is that, this columns have 30 years old and my client is afraid that the columns have any deformation and this new dishes don´t fit in the columns.

I upgrade my software to give me a Excel file with the deformation on each cross section for the radius Project.
I have to prepare a dxf file with only the cross sections and the software will calculate a new center with only the 3d points of each cross section (the alignment that I give before may not be exactly the same for each cross section) I give to the software the project radius ( in this case 3.67m) and the software will divide the circle in 32 parts ( I can chose how many parts i Iwant), final give me a excel file with the 32 points with difference (mm) to the radius project.

This is a very fast process and very useful for the client.
