I have tried doing face scans with my NE scanner but had a little trouble as it takes a long time to scan and you must stay very still.

Yes, lying down helps. Comfort is key. You really cant hold still without the proper setup.
Are you using HD PRO? The video was done using "standard mode" HD pro scans which take 45 seconds each.
You can also try "quick mode" scans. We used these to do live face scanning at SIGGRAPH with good results. |

Like most things in life, it help to have the right tools for the job. The Vivid 9I
http://www.ems-usa.com/Vivid_9i.shtml seems to work pretty well and pretty quickly. You are right the person should be in a comfortable position so they can stay still. Unless it is a cadaver... _________________ Andrew McEwen
