hi everyone..

i'm an artist, and i'd like to make 3d scans of people's faces, with the ultimate goal of having the files made into 3d models afterwards...i'm in manhattan..any ideas? suggestions?

Hi Phil,

We have had experience with creates prototypes of faces in a number of ways. You can take front and side view pics and use softwares to generate algorithms which will create a 3d model, but does not capture hair is not acurate. You can also get a CT Scan and use that data with a software called Mimics to generate a 3D CAD model. The 3rd way it to 3d scan a face with a variety of 3d scanners.

Here is an example of using a Zscanner:

You can also used a tripod mounted scanner such as a Vivid 9i to illuminate the use of dots.

We have experience with all 3 techniques and offer both sales and services.

Once you have the 3D CAD, you can print a monochrome model and hand paint it or have a full 24 bit color model made on a Zcorp 3d printer like the Z650.
